1 Chronicles 16:11

Seek YAH and His strength; seek His face continually.

In a world that constantly pulls our attention in every direction, it can be easy to lose focus on what truly matters. Responsibilities, distractions, and challenges often crowd our minds, leaving little room to prioritize what is eternal. But Scripture calls us back to the heart of worship and devotion with this simple yet profound instruction: seek YAH and His strength, seek His face continually.

Why Put YAH First?

When we put YAH first, we acknowledge that He is the Creator, Sustainer, and ultimate authority over all things. Seeking Him first is an act of faith, trust, and surrender, declaring that we depend on Him above all else. As Yeshua (Yahusha) reminds us in Matthew 6:33, “Seek first the Kingdom of YAH and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” By making YAH our priority, we align our hearts and lives with His will, finding strength, purpose, and peace.

Seek YAH and His Strength

The strength we need for life’s challenges does not come from within—it comes from YAH. When we seek His strength, we are inviting His power to work in and through us. This requires humility, as we recognize that our own abilities are limited. YAH’s strength is limitless, and He freely gives it to those who call upon Him. Whether facing trials, temptations, or the everyday demands of life, we can rest in the assurance that YAH’s power is sufficient.

Seek His Face Continually

To seek YAH’s face is to seek His presence and to long for an intimate relationship with Him. This isn’t something we do only on certain days or during specific moments of need—it’s a continual pursuit. Just as we cherish time with those we love, we should delight in spending time with YAH through prayer, worship, and meditating on His Word. When we seek His face, we find the fullness of joy, peace, and guidance (Psalm 16:11).

Practical Steps to Put YAH First

  1. Start and End Your Day with YAH: Begin each morning in prayer, thanking Him for the new day, and end the day by reflecting on His faithfulness.
  2. Prioritize His Word: Make time to read and meditate on Scripture daily. Let His Word guide your decisions and shape your perspective.
  3. Keep Him at the Center: Before making decisions, ask, “Does this align with YAH’s will?” Let Him direct your steps.
  4. Commit Your Ways to Him: Dedicate your work, relationships, and plans to YAH, trusting Him to establish them (Proverbs 16:3).
  5. Worship Continually: Cultivate a lifestyle of worship, not only through songs but also through obedience and gratitude.

Reflection

Where is YAH on the list of your priorities? Are you seeking Him above everything else? Take time to evaluate your heart and realign your focus. When we put YAH first, everything else falls into its proper place. He is our strength, our guide, and our greatest treasure. Let us seek Him and His face continually, living a life that honors His name.

Prayer

YAH, we worship You as the King of all creation, our source of strength and hope. Teach us to seek You first in all things, to rely on Your power and not our own, and to cherish time in Your presence. Help us to keep our hearts focused on You and to live in a way that honors Your name. Through Yeshua, our Redeemer and example, we pray. Amen.
