Yeshua, also known as Jesus of Nazareth, is the promised Messiah prophesied throughout the Tanakh (Old Testament). He is the Son of YAH (God) who came to redeem humanity, reconcile us to the Father, and restore the covenant relationship between YAH and His people. Yeshua’s life, death, and resurrection are at the heart of YAH’s redemptive plan for the world.

Yeshua: The Promised Messiah

Yeshua fulfilled countless prophecies about the coming Savior. Isaiah 7:14 foretells His miraculous birth:
“Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.”
Yeshua’s lineage and mission also align with the prophecy of Isaiah 53, describing Him as the suffering servant who would bear the sins of many.

As the Messiah, Yeshua came to save both Israel and the nations (Gentiles):
“It is not enough for you to be My servant raising up the tribes of Jacob and restoring the protected ones of Israel. I will also make you a light for the nations, to be My salvation to the ends of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6).

YAH’s Covenant and the Need for Reconciliation

YAH established a covenant with Israel at Mount Sinai, but due to Israel’s repeated idolatry and unfaithfulness, YAH declared:
“I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries” (Jeremiah 3:8).

Under the Torah (Deuteronomy 24:1-4), once a man divorces his wife and she marries another, he cannot take her back. This posed a problem: how could YAH reconcile with His covenant people, Israel? The answer lay in Yeshua’s death.

Yeshua’s Death: Reconciling Us to YAH

Yeshua’s death on the cross was the means by which YAH reconciled His people to Himself. Through His sacrifice, Yeshua paid the penalty for sin, fulfilling the requirements of the Torah:
“He made the One who did not know sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21).

By dying, Yeshua also freed Israel from the curse of the Law and enabled YAH to renew the covenant. Paul explains in Romans 7:2-4:
“For a married woman is legally bound to her husband while he lives. But if her husband dies, she is released from the law regarding the husband… Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you also were put to death in relation to the law through the body of Christ so that you may belong to another.”
Through Yeshua’s death, Israel’s “marriage” to YAH under the old covenant was annulled, and a new covenant was established.

The New Covenant and the Holy Spirit

Yeshua’s resurrection brought life and the promise of the Holy Spirit to all who believe in Him. This fulfilled Ezekiel 36:26-27:
“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My statutes and carefully observe My ordinances.”

After His resurrection, Yeshua declared the fulfillment of this promise:
“If you love Me, you will keep My commands. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever. He is the Spirit of truth” (John 14:15-17).

The Holy Spirit, given after Yeshua’s ascension, empowers believers to live righteous lives and seals them as part of YAH’s covenant family.

Yeshua as the Bridegroom

Yeshua’s death and resurrection paved the way for the ultimate reunion between YAH and His bride. Revelation 19:7-9 celebrates this:
“Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory, because the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has prepared herself.”

Through faith in Yeshua, both Israel and the nations are invited to become part of the bride, united under the new covenant.

Conclusion

Yeshua is the Messiah who redeemed us from sin and reconciled us to YAH. His sacrificial death annulled the covenant broken by Israel’s unfaithfulness, allowing YAH to remarry His bride. Through His resurrection, Yeshua brought new life and the indwelling Holy Spirit, empowering us to walk in obedience and live as part of YAH’s eternal family.

As believers, we are called to live in gratitude and faith, awaiting the day when Yeshua will return to fully establish His kingdom and celebrate the marriage supper of the Lamb. Let us remember His words:
“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
